About Painterly Wallpapers
A one-person studio making desktop wallpapers in complete, coherent sets rather than one-off images.
Most wallpaper sites hand you a wall of unrelated images. This one is built the opposite way: every release is a collection of 100 images that share a palette, a light and a mood, so your desktop still looks deliberate on the fortieth wallpaper as it did on the first.
How a collection is made
- A written brief fixes the subject, era, technique and palette — for example “hand-painted 1990s cel-animation film background art, gouache and watercolour, warm nostalgic palette.”
- Twenty-five distinct scenes are written out, each shot four ways: wide establishing, intimate detail, golden hour, and soft overcast. That is the 100.
- Every image is rendered, reviewed and upscaled to true 4K (3840 × 2160). Anything that breaks the set is regenerated, not shipped.
- The finished set is packaged as a single ZIP and delivered through Gumroad.
On how these are made
Created with AI-assisted painterly rendering, then curated, upscaled and finished by hand. The briefs, the scene lists, the curation and the quality bar are mine. No collection describes itself as the work of another artist or studio, and no living artist's name is used to steer the output.
